End of an Era: Fighting Tigers Host Final GCAA Home Game
Cuthbert, Ga - As the Fighting Tigers prepare for the final home matchup of the 2026 regular season, it's hard not to acknowledge the history that will be cemented as Andrew College reflects on its year of athletic competition.
On Thursday, April 30, the Andrew College Baseball Team will close out its regular-season schedule with a matchup against South Georgia State College. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
This will go down in history as the final home matchup for all Andrew College athletics programs as members of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
In the Cut Boys' last matchup against East Georgia, the Fighting Tigers split Tuesday's doubleheader, keeping them in third place in the GCAA standings with an 11-16 conference record. Andrew took Game 1, 2-0, led by 3B Cameron Kenney (3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and RHP Jakob Grant (7.0 IP, 3 H, BB, 9 SO), who picked up his second win of the season.
The nine strikeouts for Grant matched a career high, which he previously reached when he recorded nine strikeouts in 5.0 innings against Point University on Feb. 25.
Thursday's game will determine the Fighting Tigers' seeding for next week's GCAA conference tournament, scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 5.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
