CUTHBERT, Ga - In their 2026 Opening Day double-header, Andrew College Baseball secured a 2-0 win over Tallahassee State College in game one, but would split Saturday's double-header with a 13-4 loss in game two.
This is the second consecutive opening day that the Fighting Tigers faced off against TSC, however in this matchup, the Tigers struck first. In game one, Andrew College was led by 4.1 scoreless frames from Opening Day starter Nicholas Sloane.
The Fighting Tigers' offense came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning, sparked by a leadoff double from Tyler Walling. Walling advanced to third on a groundout by Cameron Kenney, setting up an RBI single from Anthony Kradzinski. Andrew College added an insurance run later in the inning, courtesy of Brooks Bibby, to secure the 2-0 victory.
Entering game two with momentum, the Fighting Tigers jumped out to an early lead with a three-run first inning. Tallahassee State responded with three runs of its own in the top of the second. Andrew College regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the third to make it 4-3, but the Eagles answered with 10 unanswered runs to pull away.
The Fighting Tigers split their Opening Day doubleheader and will return to action on the road Tuesday, Jan. 27, against Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
