Fighting Tigers Take Down South Georgia State, 14-6
CUTHBERT, Ga - Back at home for the first time since April 3, the Fighting Tigers delivered a dominant 14-6 win over South Georgia State. Fans could see how locked in the Cut Boys were ahead of their Thursday night matchup, especially as they hoped to bounce back after falling to the Hawks on Tuesday with a score of 14-7.
The Fighting Tigers played an all-around game highlighted by several players with multiple hits, including Jose Massanet, Cameron Kenney and Colin Mendiola.
Andrew got off to an early 1-0 lead as OF Anthony Kradzinski lined a single up the middle. He was followed by Massanet, who delivered with a two-run RBI double to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead and set up a four-run first inning.
As their offense exploded in the opening frame, OF Brock Falor flashed the leather with a highlight diving grab in left to end the second and hold the Hawks to just two runs in the inning.
Although Andrew had a few bases-loaded scares and some unfortunate miscues, the Fighting Tigers stayed locked in and eventually built a 10-2 lead that they would maintain through the remainder of the game.
Thursday's matchup marked the second of four games between these two squads this week. The Fighting Tigers return to Hord Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 11, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
