Tigers Look to Gain Ground in GCAA Standings at East Georgia State
CUTHBERT, Ga - On Tuesday, April 28, the Andrew College baseball team will travel to Swainsboro to face off against the East Georgia State College Bobcats in a Tuesday doubleheader. Game 1 first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and marks the final two road games of the 2026 regular season for the Fighting Tigers.
This past weekend, the Bobcats traveled to Cuthbert and fell in both games during Friday's doubleheader. Over the two-game stretch, the Fighting Tigers won both games with a run differential of plus-14, including a Game 1 walk-off win thanks to a Haiden Schultz three-run home run.
With their two wins, the Cut Boys currently sit in third place in the GCAA with a 10-15 conference record and, with two more wins, could close the gap with second-place South Georgia (13-12).
The Bobcats currently lead the season set between these two clubs, 3-2. With another sweep, the Fighting Tigers could take control, however, with even one loss on Tuesday afternoon, the Tigers would forfeit the season series.
Following Tuesday's matchup, the Fighting Tigers will return home to Hord Athletic Complex to play South Georgia State College in their final game of the 2026 season.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
