Schedule Update: Tigers Set for Key Doubleheader vs. Gordon State
CUTHBERT, Ga - Due to the possibility of inclement weather, the Fighting Tigers have rescheduled Saturday's game against Gordon State for Friday, April 24. The matchup will be a doubleheader, with Game 1 first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Cut Boys are coming off a tough 11-5 loss to Georgia Highlands and will look to snap a two-game skid on Friday. Including Friday's doubleheader, the Fighting Tigers have just three home games remaining this season.
The Fighting Tigers currently lead the season series against Gordon State, 3-1, including a three-game winning streak where Andrew holds a run differential of plus-14. In their last matchup on Saturday, March 28, the Cut Boys dominated en route to a 10-1 victory, highlighted by a season-high six strikeouts from RHP Brady Cunningham.
Gordon is currently sitting in fourth place in the GCAA with a 10-14 conference record, so the Fighting Tigers still have ample time to shake up the GCAA standings and make a case for the conference tournament without a play-in game. Following Friday's doubleheader, the Fighting Tigers will hit the road for a Tuesday doubleheader on April 28 to face East Georgia State.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia.
