Game Preview: Andrew Heads to Barnesville After 14-Run Outburst
CUTHBERT, Ga - After their 14-run outburst on Tuesday against Gordon State, Andrew College Baseball will travel to Barnesville to face the Highlanders once again. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
Tuesday's 14-9 victory not only snapped a nine-game skid but showcased a complete team performance. The Fighting Tigers received key offensive contributions from OF Brady DeRosso, SS Colin Mendiola and 2B Luke Meszar.
Defensively, Andrew also made its presence felt. Former infielder turned RF Jose Massanet recorded his first outfield assist of the season, firing a strike to cut down a runner attempting to stretch a single.
With an 8-4 conference record, Gordon State remains the No. 2 team in the GCAA, making Thursday's matchup another opportunity for Andrew to build momentum and shake up the conference standings.
Thursday's game marks the second of four consecutive meetings between the two teams. The series will conclude with a Saturday doubleheader in Barnesville.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia.
