Game Preview: Andrew College Baseball vs. Thomas University
CUTHBERT, Ga - Following a tough weekend in Fort Myers, Fla. opposite Florida Southwestern State College, the Fighting Tigers will head back south Tuesday to compete in an afternoon doubleheader against Thomas University JV.
Despite a difficult start to the season and last weekend's unfortunate series sweep, several players have stepped up, led by starting shortstop Luke Meszar. Through five games, Meszar is batting .526 (10-for-19) with 2 2B, 3 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB and 6 SB. He currently leads Andrew College in batting average, RBI, stolen bases and hits.
Despite his hot start, the Fighting Tigers will need to find their rhythm as a team and look for additional production to help ease the load on their shortstop.
After opening the season with a 2-0 win over Tallahassee State College, the Fighting Tigers have yet to return to the win column and are currently on a four-game skid they will look to snap in Thomasville.
For Thomas University JV, Tuesday's matchup will mark its first game action of the season. The doubleheader will conclude a five-game road stretch for Andrew College.
The Fighting Tigers return to Hord Complex on Thursday, Feb. 5, to face Wallace Community College-Dothan. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
