Bio
Sophomore middle blocker JaMya “Mya” Evans is a dual-sport athlete for the Fighting Tigers, competing in both volleyball and women’s basketball. A native of Valdosta, Georgia, she is majoring in Sports Management with plans to further her education while continuing her athletic career.
Evans was a standout at Valdosta High School, where she earned honors such as Athlete of the Month, Honorable Mention as a junior, Second Team All-Region as a senior, and multiple Player of the Game recognitions. She also served as team captain and earned both a nursing certificate and a cosmetology certificate while in high school. At Andrew, she has been named to the Dean’s List while also earning additional Player of the Game accolades.
The daughter of Shantell Lambert, Evans has seven siblings and enjoys doing hair and lashes, painting, coloring, cooking, and listening to music.
