Andrew College Student-Athlete Spotlight: Mya DuBose Excels On the Court and in the Classroom
CUTHBERT, Ga - The Student-Athlete Spotlight was created to highlight Andrew College student-athletes who have excelled both academically and competitively. A premier example of this initiative is Mya DuBose, a student who continues to shine both on the court and in the classroom.
A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., DuBose is a young woman of many talents. Outside of volleyball, she enjoys creating various forms of art and even spent 13 years dancing before shifting her primary focus to volleyball. That decision paid off as she competed at American Christian Academy and on the club level with the T-Town Elite 18U team from 2023-25.
Coming to Cuthbert, DuBose knew Andrew College would provide a new and exciting opportunity. Upon arriving on campus, she quickly got involved and embraced the college experience.
"For new students, meet as many friends as possible. Don't just stay in your room," said DuBose. "One year literally goes by so fast. Take it one day at a time; you aren't always going to be perfect."
Now a valuable member of the Andrew College women's volleyball team, DuBose has become a strong example of hard work and dedication. Her success did not happen overnight but instead came through her commitment to being her best self every day.
DuBose is currently studying elementary education and holds a 3.83 GPA through her first year on campus.Through her dedication in the classroom and on the volleyball court, DuBose continues to represent the values of Andrew College at the highest level.
