Andrew College Student-Athlete Spotlight: Na'Laya Singleton

Andrew College Student-Athlete Spotlight: Na'Laya Singleton

CUTHBERT, Ga - For Na'Laya Singleton, her journey to Andrew College was not necessarily expected, but it has quickly become one defined by growth, success and her impact across multiple sports and opportunities.

Hailing from Sumter, South Carolina, Singleton was originally unsure about her athletic future. That uncertainty shifted when she was offered a scholarship opportunity by the program's former head coach, a moment that proved to be a turning point for the sophomore out of Crestwood High School.

Since stepping on campus, Singleton has embraced every opportunity placed in front of her. In addition to competing on the court as a member of the Fighting Tigers volleyball team, she has also taken on a key role behind the scenes as the team manager for the Andrew College women's basketball program, a position she previously held during her time at Crestwood High School.

Her impact has not gone unnoticed.

According to Head Women's Basketball Coach Kelly Britsky, she describes Singleton as one of the best team managers she has ever had, highlighting her ability to anticipate the needs of the coaching staff while consistently operating with efficiency and urgency. Known across campus as "Lay," Singleton has built a reputation rooted in reliability, preparation and a team-first mindset.

Head Volleyball Coach Tevon Harris echoed that praise.

"Na'Laya is an incredibly hardworking athlete and individual who has a great passion for the people and things in her life that bring her joy," Harris said. "She leads through her actions on campus and on the multiple sports teams she plays for and manages here on campus. Lay will find great success in whatever life path she chooses and Andrew is beyond blessed to have an individual like her on their campus."

While her presence is felt daily within the women's basketball program, Singleton has also made her mark as a standout student-athlete for the Fighting Tigers Volleyball Team over the past two seasons.

Before her arrival in Cuthbert, Singleton put together an impressive career at Crestwood High School, earning Athlete of the Year honors, Most Valuable Player recognition and All-Region accolades.

Off the court, Singleton is pursuing a degree in Biological Health Science. She has also considered plans to serve her country by joining the Air Force.

Regardless of her next steps, Singleton remains grounded in her purpose and driven by the lessons she has learned along the way.

"When you come here, make sure you are prepared to do what you are supposed to do and that you stay on top of your responsibilities," Singleton said. "Don't let anyone get in your head and tell you that you can't do something and don't let anyone take away from what you came here to do."

Since arriving in Cuthbert, Lay has been a premier example of what it means to represent Andrew College at the highest level and her Fighting Tiger family can't wait to see all the great things she accomplishes.

Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
