Bio

McKinley Ward-La Salle enters his first year at Andrew College as Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach.

Ward-La Salle most recently served as a Fitness Specialist at Georgetown University Law School, where he worked with the Law School Recreation Center and Gymnasium supporting student and faculty wellness initiatives.

Prior to Georgetown, Ward-La Salle served as the Head Track and Field Coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where he oversaw all aspects of the program, including coaching, recruiting and team development.

He brings extensive experience in cross country and track and field, previously serving as Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track Coach at Fort Scott Community College (2023-24), Long-Distance Coach at Georgia Tech (2023), Graduate Assistant in health and human performance at Northwestern State University (2021-22) and track and field and cross country Communications Director and Volunteer Coach at Georgia Tech (2020-21).

In addition to his coaching background, Ward-La Salle has extensive experience in athletic communications. At Georgia Tech, he created and distributed media materials, assisted with athlete interviews and supported team operations during practices and competitions. He also served as a graduate assistant athletic communications director for track and field and cross country at Northern Arizona University.

His foundation in athletic communications began at Louisiana Tech University, where he worked as a student worker, intern and volunteer Sports Information Director from 2013-17.

Ward-La Salle earned a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance from Northwestern State University in April 2023. He received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana Tech University in March 2018.
