Andrew College Battles the Nation’s Best at NJCAA Wrestling National Duals
MIAMI, Ok - The Andrew College Fighting Tigers Men's Wrestling Team tested itself against the highest level of junior college competition while competing at the NJCAA Wrestling National Duals. Facing some of the top programs from across the country in a demanding multi-day tournament this past weekend.
Held annually, the NJCAA National Duals bring together the nation's elite junior college wrestling programs in a team-based format that challenges depth, toughness and consistency across all weight classes. For Andrew College, the event served as both a measuring stick and a valuable learning experience as the Fighting Tigers continue to build momentum throughout the season.
Despite the challenging slate of opponents, Andrew College showed resilience and determination in every dual. Several matches were tightly contested, with the Tigers pushing nationally ranked opponents deep into bouts.
"This tournament exposes areas we can improve, but it also shows how close we are to competing with the top teams in the country," said Billy Gordy, head Men's Wrestling Coach.
The National Duals atmosphere provided invaluable postseason-style experience, simulating the intensity Andrew College will see later in the year during conference and national championship events.
As the Fighting Tigers move forward, the lessons learned at the NJCAA National Duals are expected to pay dividends. Andrew College will look to build on the experience, sharpen execution and continue progressing as the season advances toward championship competition.
Andrew College wrestling remains focused on growth, toughness and representing the program with pride on the national stage.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia.
