Andrew College Battles Through Opening Bouts at NJCAA National Duals
MIAMI, Ok - After three matches to start the day, Andrew College looks to turn the tide as it faces Southeast Community College and Triton College.
In its opening dual against No. 5 North Idaho, the Fighting Tigers fell 49-6, with the team's lone points coming from 133-pound standout Amantee Mills.
Despite the tough loss to open the 2026 NJCAA Coaches Association Duals, the Tigers responded with renewed energy. Once again, Mills scored the first points for Andrew College, followed by three straight victories at 141 pounds and 149 pounds from Jaylen Bethea and Thawbaan As-Sidiq. However, the Tigers struggled down the stretch and ultimately fell 28-24 to Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa.
Andrew closed the morning session against Cloud County Community College. Although the dual opened with an impressive performance from 125-pounder Corey Dye, which included four takedowns through three periods, the Fighting Tigers were unable to find their rhythm and suffered a 27-23 defeat.
The Tigers will wrap up the night with a 4:30 p.m. matchup against Southeast Community College, followed by a 6 p.m. bout against Triton College.
