Andrew College Edges Huntingdon in Thriller, Wins Dual on Criteria
CUTHBERT, Ga - The Fighting Tigers men's wrestling team earned a dramatic victory Thursday night, defeating Huntingdon College on criteria after the dual ended in a 21–21 tie. The win marks another gritty performance from a young but surging Tigers squad.
Both teams traded momentum throughout the evening, with each squad securing key wins and bonus points to keep the score tight. After the final bout concluded and the scoreboard showed the dual deadlocked, officials turned to tiebreaker criteria Andrew College ultimately clinched the victory on most Maxpoints won, giving the Tigers the deciding edge.
Head Coach Billy Gordy praised the team's toughness and relentless effort. "Anytime a dual comes down to criteria, every point matters," he said. "Our guys fought through every position, stayed disciplined, and showed the heart needed to win a dual like this. This is a big step forward for our program."
Several Tigers delivered standout performances, including clutch wins in the middle weights that helped swing momentum back to Andrew. The 133lb bout closed the dual with high tension, forcing the meet into criteria and setting up the thrilling finish. Amantee Mills clinched the dual with a pin in one minute 16 seconds to end the match.
The victory adds another strong result to Andrew College's 2025–26 campaign as the Tigers continue to build toward conference competition.

The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
