Andrew Women’s Basketball Falls 79-70, Remain One Win Away From History
CUTHBERT, Ga - Andrew College Women's Basketball sits just one win shy of the program record after falling to Central Georgia Technical College 79-70.
Through the first half, the Fighting Tigers got off to a slow start, ending the first quarter down 25-11. Unfortunately, the second quarter would be more of the same as Andrew went into halftime trailing 47-26.
Despite facing a 21-point deficit, Andrew was not planning to roll over and accept defeat. Instead, the Fighting Tigers dominated the second half, even cutting the lead to six in the fourth quarter. However, the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Despite outscoring Central Georgia 44-32 in the second half, Andrew ultimately fell by nine.
The Fighting Tigers were led in scoring by C Hannah Morris, who tallied 21 points to go along with two blocks, two assists and four rebounds. She was one of three Fighting Tigers to score in double figures, joined by Braniya Baker with 17 points and Jayla Fulks with 11.
At 13-12 overall and 5-7 in conference play, the Fighting Tigers sit fourth in the GCAA and are currently tied with the 2016-17 Women's Basketball team for the most wins in program history with 13.
With just three games remaining in the regular season, one more win would give the 2025-26 Tigers sole possession of the most wins in school history.
Andrew returns to action on the road against East Georgia State College on Feb. 28. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia.
