The Lady Tigers Fall in Overtime Versus GCAA Leader East Georgia State, 90-84

CUTHBERT, Ga - Coming off their largest win of the season, a 42-point victory over Southern Crescent Technical College, the Fighting Tigers were set to face conference-leading East Georgia State College. Andrew fought until the end but ultimately fell in overtime, 90-84.

The six-point victory marked East Georgia's lowest margin of victory this season since a three-point win over South Georgia Tech on Jan. 17, 69-66.

In the first quarter, the Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead and were up eight points at the end of the period, 21-13. Andrew College carried that momentum into halftime, but East Georgia would not stay quiet for long. After trailing by 11 at the break, the Bobcats outscored the Fighting Tigers 45-34 in the second half to force overtime.

Ultimately the Bobcats would outscore the Fighting Tigers and take the win on their home floor.

Despite the loss, Andrew College's starters came to play, with three players scoring in double figures. Hannah Morris led the way with 20 points, followed by Braniya Baker with 17 points and Jasmyn Thomas with 15 points. As a team, the Tigers shot 49.0 percent (24-for-49) from the field and 41.7 percent (5-for-12) from 3-point range.

The Fighting Tigers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 11, when they face Albany Technical College at Jinks Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
