Lady Tigers Set to Honor Sophomore Class Ahead of Conference Doubleheader
CUTHBERT, Ga - On Saturday, April 11, the Lady Tigers will lace them up to face off against the East Georgia State College Bobcats. The Fighting Tigers will also celebrate Sophomore Day prior to the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Andrew College will celebrate Jazmyn Lang, Trista Bennett, Baleigh Prescott and Na'Layla Singleton.
Lang primarily plays right field but, with her speed, has shown the ability at all three positions. Lang has been a leader for the Fighting Tigers since arriving on campus. That leadership has been shown on and off the field, especially as she serves as the president of the Student Government Association.
"Being SGA president means that you are the face and voice of the students, serving as a conduit between the students and administration," said Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Affairs Chicquan L. Cannon. "The SGA president helps set the tone for the student body, embodying servant leadership while serving as a role model and a leader. Jazmyn has represented all of this so far."
Lang hails from Mobile, Ala., and attended McGill-Toolen Catholic High School before choosing Andrew College to continue her athletic and educational career. She is currently majoring in biological health sciences, where she has excelled on all fronts. Lang was recently named to the fall 2025 dean's list, which recognizes students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Bennett is known for her passion for sports and her ability to bring her teammates together on and off the field. Bennett is a two-sport athlete in softball and basketball.
Bennett is currently studying elementary education and plans to continue impacting the lives of others as she pursues her degree and dream of teaching the next generation.
Over her two years as a member of the Andrew College softball team, Prescott has been a consistent force in the circle while being a true example of a leader on and off the field.
Prescott hails from Columbus, Ga., having attended Northside High School. Prescott was also a member of two championship-winning teams in 2022 and 2023.
Na'Laya Singleton
Singleton is another two-sport athlete who competes in volleyball and softball. The sophomore out of Crestwood High School is a volleyball star and has been a leader and an example for her peers from the moment she stepped on campus.
She also works as the manager for the women's basketball program, a position she has held for the past two seasons.
"Na'Laya is an incredibly hardworking athlete and individual who has a great passion for the people and things in her life that bring her joy," said Head Andrew College Volleyball Coach Tevon Harris. "She leads through her actions on campus and on the multiple sports teams she plays for and manages here on campus. Lay will find great success in whatever life path she chooses and Andrew is beyond blessed to have an individual like her on their campus."
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
