Season Preview: Andrew College Softball Opens the Season Against Gulf Coast State College

CUTHBERT, Ga - On Friday, Jan. 23, Andrew College softball will face Gulf Coast State College.

The Lady Tigers enter the spring season with a roster dominated by freshmen, but with the return of Jazmyn Lang, Baleigh Prescott and Trista Bennett, the Fighting Tigers will still have a veteran presence in the dugout.

Andrew College will open the season on the road for the second consecutive year and begin the campaign against a Gulf Coast squad that finished the 2024-25 season with a 28-25 overall record.

During their two-game September showcase against Reid State, the Fighting Tigers went 2-0. Andrew College won game one, 14-6, and game two, 4-2. Game one was highlighted by a three-RBI performance from second baseman Michelle Chicas, who went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, two hits, two runs scored and a walk.

With youth on their side, the Fighting Tigers will look to head coach Ken DeCook for guidance as he leads the program through the spring season.

Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
