Hightower Scores 25 as Andrew Falls to Gordon State, 80-64

CUTHBERT, Ga - In a tough matchup against conference foe Gordon State College, the Fighting Tigers fell 80-64. Elijah Hightower led all scorers with 25 points to go along with three rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Through the first 10 minutes, the game was evenly matched as both teams came out firing on all cylinders. However, a late run to end the half gave the Highlanders a 40-31 advantage at the break, largely due to the scoring of F Donovan Hand, who finished the half with 12 points.

Coming out of halftime, the Fighting Tigers faced an uphill battle in order to take the lead. They managed to do just that. Led by the defensive effort of freshman G Jayden Mangram, Andrew was able to close the gap and eventually tie the game late in the second half.

Unfortunately, the Highlanders responded with a late run to seal the game and secure the 16-point victory.

The Fighting Tigers will close out their season on Saturday, March 7, against South Georgia State College. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. Andrew College will also recognize its sophomore class as part of Sophomore Day for the 2025-26 season.

Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia.
